My granddaughters call me DD!
I'm the father of 3 beautiful daughters and 3 exceptional granddaughters! I've been married to my wife, Susan, for almost 47 years. I've spent 33 years as a business owner, working with clients from all walks of life.
As an underwater portrait artist, I like to create underwater portraits, celebrating what makes YOU special, by capturing authentic moments and bringing out the beauty of the human form. I normally shoot in my backyard heated pool, which allows me to shoot throughout the entire year. This allows me the opportunity to help capture YOUR special moments anytime during the year. Whether it's a birthday milestone, career celebration, engagement or maternity session, or mermaid adventure, I enjoy the creative process, working together with you to help bring your dreams to reality.
There's magic happening underwater. It's the quiet confidence you feel as you get deeper into the session. There's the feelings of calm and peace, as you allow the water to heal and relax you. The messy hair, the funny faces, the beautiful reflections, those are the memories that matter most.
Every session is a chance to slow down and celebrate YOU, just as you are. My goal? To give you photos that make you smile today and tear up ten years from now.
You don't have to know what you want, what to wear, or how to pose.
I craft every session around your unique preferences, from choosing gowns and wardrobes, to color selections for backdrops, and custom-built sets and props to enhance the experience.
If you are looking for a unique experience in a new environment, let's get together and talk about your creative ideas, passions, fantasies, and dreams.
I'll deliver a bespoke experience just for you, that you'll be talking about for years to come.
Safety, first and foremost, is the number one concern at all underwater portrait photography sessions. We will begin with a safety briefing and introduction to our safety swimmer, who will be in the water with us the entire time. Our safety swimmer is there to assist and to help the client feel comfortable in the water at all times.
Before going into the pool, we will discuss wardrobe and props choices, including wardrobe changes and which wardrobe to wear when. We will save the more difficult wardrobe outfits for the end of the shoot. Whether it's a swimsuit, bodysuit, lingerie, flowing dress, creative fabric, or mermaid tale, we will decide which outfit goes with which prop or background, so we are all on the same page.
As we put our feet in the water, we will go over breathing techniques and practice breathing in the shallow end of the pool. We will not go deeper into the pool until you feel comfortable and ready. The maximum depth of the pool is only 5 feet deep, so you should be able to stand up with your feet touching the bottom the entire time, if necessary. Our safety swimmer will be right beside you for help and to assist at all times.
We will shoot to capture the shots you are wanting, however, you can always stop the shoot at any time for any reason. There are no set time limits on the shoot.
